The Veterans Upward Bound Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston provides a unique opportunity for men and women veterans of all ages to gain access to information about college and career awareness, acquire the academic skills required for entry into higher education and/or to acquire the equivalent of a high school diploma. |

The S. E. Mass. Veterans Housing Program, Inc. was established to provide hope in a safe, sober, supportive residence for homeless Veterans, and to assist those who desire to achieve rehabilitation, self-sufficiency, and reintegration into the community. The Veterans Transition House, offers a Hand Up and not a Hand Out . . .

Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops is a non-profit organization started by 14 year old Dylan DeSilva. Dylan wanted to find a way to honor our Troops for their service, dedication and sacrifices to our country. With the help of his family and friends he sends care packages to our Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan on a weekly basis. At the request of our Troops Dylan also sends items to schools, orphanages, medical and dental clinics in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

State benefits include public assistance for indigent veterans and tuition waivers at state colleges and universities. Every city and town in the Commonwealth has a Veterans’ Agent, who is there to find veterans, advise them of their rights and benefits, and then to assist veterans as they apply for and receive state and federal benefits.

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, with its Auxiliaries, includes 2.2 million members in approximately 8,100 Posts worldwide.
Its mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' service, community service, national security and a strong national defense.

The Young Marines is an educational and service program for boys and girls from the age of 8 through the completion of high school. The program is sponsored by the Marine Corps League and is also the USMC Youth Drug Demand Reduction Program. The Young Marines focus on:
character building
leadership
promotes a healthy, drug free lifestyle
